SUNDAY SERVICE

Sunday Worship at Bala and Port Carling United are a lively, enlightening time.

Rev Ceri starts by welcoming everyone. He then asks if anyone is having an anniversary or a birthday or has other good news to share, which are then celebrated.

This openness encourages the congregation to speak out. Rev Ceri further promotes this interaction by asking for stories or thoughts from the congregation. This is often leads to humour and laughter but can also be serious and thought-provoking. Participants are also encouraged to speak to one another, giving a welcoming and inclusive feeling to the service.

Music is another key component of Sunday Worship at our services. Hymns, special music from the choir, guitar accompaniments and, occasionally, solos or small groups of the many talented members of the church all provide a thematic underscoring of the lesson in a beautiful form.

After the service at PCUC nearly everyone moves into Hanna Hall for refreshments. Fellowship there continues, full of laughter, hugs and conversation. BUC carries their conversations after the service outside onto the lawn or in our warm church in the winter.
